[London.] Jan. 10. The following is a translation of the
German verses, proposed to be inscribed on the monument his
Prussian Majesty has directed to be raised for General
Keith, who so gallantly fought, and so gloriously fell in
that Prince's service.
From Scotland's Marshals sprung, a noble line!
By merit, Keith, was that high office thine:
Thou lived a hero, and a hero dy'd!
  A monarch's gratitude this tomb supply'd,
For deeds like thine, unenvy'd honours claim,
High titles, fun'ral pomp, and deathless fame.
